Sunday 4th Febuary (H) won 5-0 vs Braborne League Match
Troggs goalkeeper Aaron Brown enjoyed another quiet Sunday morning as he moves on to an astonishing 7 and a half hours sine he last endured picking the ball out of his net with the Troggs central defensive pairing of Stocks and Granddad Chris protecting Aaron and keeping the record of not conceding this calendar year in tacked.
In attack, it was the long awaited full debut of Smardens prodigal son that inspired the Troggs to play arguably the most attractive football seen this season. With Big Bad Butch pulling the strings, yet only managing to come agonisingly close to getting on the score sheet. It was Butch who set up Pearce for the first, then Pearce who lofted over the defence for Moon to attempt an outrageous volley, 9of10 of which would result in moon in the all too familiar head in hands pose, yet this one sailed into the top corner and saw Moon reel away to the delight of the ever growing Troggs faithful.
Pearce made it three from a goal mouth scramble with, and Adamson rifled home a superb strike from a Moon through Ball with Butch again the architect of some flowing Troggs play.
Carty again chose to remove himself from play at half time, bringing Moon into the middle and putting Pepper out wide. This again proved the wrong decision for the all too modest Troggs gaffa as his side failed to produce anything like the passing football of the first half.
With a well worked Butch retiring for Roffey on 60minutes, the Troggs passing football mentality changed to a Dyke led long ball tactic allowing Roffey and Pepper to utilise their pace. Despite some heavy Braborne possession, it was Roffey who put the game to bed finishing as Stocker won another towering header from an Adamson corner. Special mention to a stalwart effort from larger than life Saturday manager Steveo who came on and offered a Peter-crouch-esq awkwardness up top.
