Sunday 19th November (H) won 4-2 vs Crusader Peter Pain Memorial Cup Match
Many of the Troggs side were in the sunday morning papers for all the wrong reasons after being spotted out at popular nightspot Strawberry moons in the early hours the night before the game. Despite this, the troggs boys turned up and did a job.
The hungover troggs side played some fairly decent football, Adamson breaking the deadlock 25minutes in after being released by an excellent cross field ball from Pearce. Gibbs extended the lead on 32 from 0.2yards out after poaching a goal bound Moon cross. Roffey, a product of the Troggs youth system who is coming on leaps and bounds with every game, was relaeased down the wing by Gibbs and after leaving the crusader defenders in his wake, cut inside to fire home his best struck finish of the season.
Crusader pulled one back in the second half but Troggs leading scorer Pearce put the game beyond doubt finishing from close range.
The ever impressive Brown produced some awesome stops throughout the game but unfortunately conceeded again as an underfire Troggs played out the last ten minutes with ten men after Leggis finally gave in following his 7th flooring of the match.
Dyke picked up a yellow card and narrowly avoided red for persistent hung-over fouling. If every ref's inforces the 'can't tackle from behind' rule so stringently, then Troggs fans may rightly fear that Dyke's season will be peppered with suspensions.
