Sunday 29th October (A) won 4-3 vs Ashford Cavaliers Kent Junior Cup
Troggs dished out another cup upset overcoming the unbeaten division 1 side in almost comfortable fashion. On the massive sinwford manor pitch troggs battled hard and early play suggested the troggs were going to compete in this fixture.
It was however Cavaliers who took the lead on 25. Troggs replied shortly after as an adamson corner was returned to him by 'never missed a header' grandad chris and adamson rifled a shot home form an impossible angle. It was Adamson who again showed his pedegree, when Dyer ignored the screams of the Advancing gibbs to pick him out in what some would consider a worse position. Adamson skipped past the last defender and fired into the bottom corner for 2-1.
After some good work from Pearce, he slotted a ball inside to Roffey, who faced with the advancing keeper took the itelligent option and laid off to dyke who slotted home for 3-1.
The troggs came in at half time unexpected leaders and led out waiting for the inevitable onslaught. Carty brought Newman off the bench for Roffey in the hope the forwards hold up play could slow the game down. It worked and the onslaught didn't come and it was the Troggs who extended their lead when Dyke found pearce free in the box and he continued his rich vein in front of goal. 4-1 and cruising past a division 1 side!
Tiredness set in and the Troggs without Adamson and Roffey struggled and eventually succumb to pressure conceeding twice more. But with some excellent defending across the back four of Loga, Lee, Smith and Bob and some quality holding up from chunk and Pearce, the Troggs held out for the upset they deserved.
