Troggs Slump to first League Defeat in a year

You have to go back almost a year to 5th March 2006 to find the last Troggs league defeat. That was against an impressive Ashford borough side, yet sunday saw Troggs slip up to a side they would usually look to walk over and infact did just that in the cup just weeks ago. The absence of Carty, Dyke and Moon proved too much for the side that travelled to the Albion on Sunday, going down 3-2 for Carty's side first league loss of the season.

Despite being 1-0 up at the break thanks to Pearce, The troggs fell apart in the second half as they seemed at war with one another. Brown, who was yet to conceed in over 6 hours of football, was helpless to stop the Albion claiming a 3-1 advantage. A late own goal was not enough to get troggs back into the game who remain top of the table with Bocca able to close the gap with their games in hand.

Troggs fans can only take comfort in the knowledge that the title is still theirs to lose. Should Carty's men win all their remaining games, they will clinch top spot. Its a tall order, but we're taller.
