Troggs don't quite get the rub of the Green
Troggs travelled to Bromley Green on Sunday 1st and put on a display worthy of their Premier League opponents. Moon, Adamson and Brown were the pick of the players showing that they were all perhaps playing their trade in the wrong division. Moon twice put the Troggs ahead before the break, and troggs held on to their slender 2-1 lead with Brown producing a string of super saves only to make an uncharacteristic mistake 10 minutes from the death letting the Green back in at 2-2. A weary Troggs outfit, probably pleased not to have made extra time, finished the game with their equivalent of WWF wrestling duo Earthquake and Typhoon (Butch and Chunk) up front. They eventually succamb to the sustained pressure and sunk to 3-2 right at the death. <click to view the match report>
Troggs can take a lot from a game which another day they could have won, especially had Dyke not had to go off, when the Troggs seemed to lose their shape. In truth its not a cup they could have realistically gone on to win, but they have definitely sent out warning signs that they can and will compete at a higher level.
