LABROKES BACK BURDEN FOR MANAGEMENT
Bookmaker Ladbrokes have controversially backed Deane Burden to be in charge of the Troggs Next year bringing him in to joint favourite with current Manager Paul Newman at 6/4. It is no secret that Burden has become a real voice in the dressing room and has won over many of the players. Pete 'Loppy' Nayden (5-1) and former Manager Steve Oram (15/2) Lead the chasing pack.
Club Chairman Tim Archer backed Newman saying "As far as we're concerned everyone is happy with Newman" and should the Troggs be promoted his job would surely be safe. Archer himself is avialable at 16-1 and is believed to want to ruin the spirit of the sunday side in order to benefit that of his own saturday team. After stating that he thouroughly enjoyed being under 10 men on sunday, Matt Smith came in from 66's to 40's.
74 yr Old Chris Smith (33-1) the oldest player in the History of football has been urged by some to hang up his boots and may consider a role in management. Other Candidates include assistant manager George Dyke, who would be expected to cover should Newman 'go missing', Sven Goran Eriksson, who is linked with every job in football and Pub Lanlord Gerrard who would be expected to raise subs, ticket prices and issue half time beer and pub snacks.
17/04/06 Windybank and Butch enter the betting! Dan Windybank, who was recently in the news for being ("miss") quoted as saying to Phil the jeweller "I will come round and help you get it up" has now made the back pages again after practically naming himself as a candidate for the most talked about job in football. Windybank, who is not only convinced he could do a better job than chunk but also that he would "score 25 goals a season playing up front for troggs" is clearly a disillusioned man and Ladbrokes have reflected this laying him at 50-1 for the job. Butch, better known in some circles as 'wanky cut', was overheard expressing his interest in the job in the club bar earlier today, but arguably cannot be taken seriously due to his 'wanky' hair. Laddy's obviously feel this is the case introducing him to the market at 80-1.
