TROGGS-AID A ROARING SUCCESS
Paul Newmans Parting gift to the club he vows to return to was to put on a day of football and fun for both troggs fans and players, raising over £175 for the troggs in the process. The day began with the eagerly anticipated testimonial match pitting Newmans World XI vs Tony Carty's Troggs XI. The game was a keenly contested affair with the lead changing hands several times. The Day continued back at the flyer with Saturday Manager and club chairman Tim Archer giving his season review and handing out the saturday awards. Troggs players andy adamson and tony carty stealing the show with Adamson scooping golden boot and managers player (much to the annoyance of Richard E. Moon) and newly appointed Troggs gaffa Carty picking up supporters player and the much coveted players player of the year award.
Burgers and chips (thanks gaynor) were enjoyed by all followed by a lacklustre but eventually victorious england performance taking us to the quarters!! (COME ON ENGLAND!!!). But the highlight of the day has to have been when Chunk showed his love for the club that he is temporarily departing, single handedly raising £51.20 for a sponsored 'to the bridge and back naked' run.
